Privacy policy: Ham General Prep
1 In short
Ham General Prep collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it sends nothing to us. We can't see who uses it or how.
2 What stays on your phone
- Your study progress: which questions you've answered, practice exam scores, lessons read, drill scores, your exam date and settings. It's stored only on your device.
- If Android backup is on, Android includes that progress in your device's encrypted backup with Google. That backup is between you and Google; we can't access it.
- Reminders, if you turn them on, are scheduled on the device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Listen mode reads questions aloud with your phone's own text-to-speech engine.
- The hands-on tools (propagation, antenna and feed line, RF exposure, signals) calculate everything on the device from what you type in. Nothing you enter is stored or sent.
3 Purchases
The one-time unlock is sold through Google Play. Google handles payment; we never see your payment details or your identity. The app only asks Google Play whether this Google account owns the unlock. See Google's privacy policy.
4 Permissions
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): asked for only if you turn on the daily reminder.
- Billing, internet and network state: declared by Google Play's billing library, to make and check the in-app purchase through Google Play.
- Run at startup, keep awake and foreground service: declared by Android's job scheduler (WorkManager), so the daily reminder survives a restart.
The app itself sends nothing over the internet, and doesn't ask for location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.
5 Deleting your data
Use Settings › Reset progress in the app, or uninstall it. Either removes everything the app stored.
6 Children
The app is meant for people aged 13 and over and doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age.
7 Changes and contact
